This project of African Urban School is a competition entry that envisions a center for life education where play, nature, and flexible spaces shape the learning experience.
Spanning 3,243.5 square meter, the design prioritizes interaction, movement, and community engagement.
A key feature is the integration of playgrounds, with 1,000 sqm dedicated to play.
The primary playground sits at the heart of the school, while the secondary play area is placed on a terrace, making smart use of space.
Classrooms, libraries, and labs are arranged for accessibility and interaction, ensuring an engaging, student-friendly environment.
The design embraces natural materials, with exposed brick, greenery, and open courtyards creating a comfortable atmosphere.
Indoor plants are strategically placed to bring nature inside, enhancing well-being and focus.
At the core of the school is a multi-purpose amphitheater-style reception area, designed for learning, performances, and collaboration.
With natural light and open circulation, it serves as a vibrant hub for students and teachers.
