This competition entry reimagines a school in Ladakh as a dynamic, multi-purpose space that serves the community beyond education.

The design transforms to accommodate screenings, performances, and even weddings, ensuring the building remains useful year-round.

During school hours, foldable partitions create flexible classrooms that can expand or shrink as needed.

An open amphitheater serves as a breakout space for students. Outside school hours, the space evolves—hosting movie screenings, workshops, and community gatherings.

The upper level functions as a community dining area, while the large hall on the ground floor adapts for events like weddings and annual celebrations.

This adaptable approach is ideal for remote regions like Ladakh, where public infrastructure is limited.

The design maximizes space efficiency while fostering social connections by blurring the lines between education and community use.
